My Convention Schedule: 2018

I attend a fair number of conventions and other events during the year, and would be happy to consider adding others to this list as time and availability allow. Please note that this schedule is subject to change without notice due to other commitments, illness or other family emergencies, and cataclysmic events that prevent my attendance.

*****

January
Midwinter Gaming
I will be attending Midwinter Gaming Convention in Milwaukee, WI January 12-14. I’ll be there all weekend. I’m not on panels, but will be covering the Onyx Path booth for most of Friday and the first half of Saturday.
As its name suggests, Midwinter Gaming is a gaming-specific con. Originally a LARP convention, it has grown to not only include LARPS — Live Action Role Playing — but also countless boardgames, dice games, and tabletop RPGs, as well as panel discussions and presentations.

March
Geneva Steam
I will be attending Geneva Steam in Delavan, Wisconsin March 9-11. Panel participation TBA. Geneva Steam is a cozy steampunk convention held in a lakeside resort in a small Wisconsin town close to Chicago. The event features a dealer’s room, presentations and panel discussions, live music, fabulous costumes, and more.

June
Meeplestock
Meeplestock is a non-profit, laid-back gaming convention in Stevens Point, Wisconsin the weekend of June 15-17. I will be attending as a guest of the convention Saturday and Sunday, June 16 & 17, to play games, ramble on about stuff, and hopefully keep folks entertained. Profits from Meeplestock go to charity. Their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/meeplestock/

July
Motor City Steam
I will be attending Motor City Steam, July 13-15, for the third year in a row.
Motor City Steam is a Steampunk event held in the Detroit Metro area, featuring live music, presentations and panel discussions, a dealer’s room, authors, mechanical creations, and tons of fabulous costumes!

August
GenCon
I expect to attend GenCon — The Best Four Days In Gaming — again this year, and be working the Onyx Path Publishing booth by day. Please keep an eye on this space for further updates.

October
Great Falls Gaming Rendezvous
I am delighted to appear as Gaming Guest of Honor at Great Falls Gaming Rendezvous, October 5-7. Convention registration is open; to buy a membership, visit THIS LINK. Keep an eye on this site or the con’s Facebook page for more information. The hotel info is HERE. GFGR is a gaming convention, but it also features cosplay and hosts a judged costume contest.

November
GameHoleCon
I will be attending GameHoleCon, November 1-4, 2018. GameHoleCon is a larger (and growing!) gaming convention in Madison, Wisconsin, and I’ll be working the Onyx Path booth by day. GameHoleCon has an extensive guest list, including many luminaries of the tabletop gaming industry, both past and present.

TeslaCon
I will be be attending TeslaCon, November 15-18.
TeslaCon is an immersive Steampunk experience — meaning there are actors who move throughout the convention, interacting with con-goers and staging events to further the convention’s ongoing storyline.

Pax Unplugged
Pax Unplugged is yet another in the series of PAX conventions, with this one emphasizing tabletop games. I will be attending to run games for Onyx Path. My schedule will vary from day to day, and might change again before the convention is finished, so best to check in to see when I’ll be at one of the Onyx Path gaming tables in the big hall.

Adding further events to this schedule is not only possible, it’s likely. Please check back throughout the spring and summer for further updates and new events.
